Stellenbosch
This historical place is the oldest town in the Cape. Founded by Simon van der Stel, the former Dutch governor of the Cape province. Stellenbosch offers wine tasting, idyllic restaurants, cape dutch architecture and oak- tree lined streets, as well as small boutiques and art galleries. A stroll through this enchanting village will leave lasting impressions and the wish to return.

Fransschoek
Approximately 50 km from Somerset West, this historical town attracts thousands of visitors each year. The early Hugenot settlers introduced French cuisine and wine making to this romantic place in the valley. Today some world famous wines are produced in this region and a number of restaurants each year make it on the list of the 100 top restaurants in South Africa. You may explore nature in the Franschhoek surroundings either on horseback, on mountain bike or on foot.

Three of the best known wine estates are situated in the immediate surroundings of Erinvale, Vergelegen, Lourensford and Morgenster.

Famous Vergelegen, meaning “far away place” with it’s 1701 Cape Dutch buildingss and the cozy Lady Phillips restaurant and tea garden, will tempt visitors to prolong their stay. Nelson Mandela favoured Vergelegen as the place for many celebrations.

Morgenster is well know for it’s excellent olice oils. Lourensford wine estate is one of the largest wine farms in the Cape province.

In close proximity of Erinvale you will find numerous first class restaurants offering world class dishes as well as super light cuisine with the freshest ingredients of the region to spoil your palate. Breathtaking views and beautiful settings will add to you enjoyment.

Visitors to the Helderberg area will find ample opportunity to explore the nearby nature reserves with their large variety of plant and bird species.

Mountain biking: There are numerous challenging trails for the enthusiastic mountain biker all in close proximity, offering various distances and courses.

You may visit large shopping malls, hip boutiques, bargain stores, african and antique markets or experience elegant shopping at the Waterfront in Cape Town.
